Obituary for Aubrey Jethro McCurry Aubrey J. McCurry, age 87, of Albia died at his daughters residence Wednesday evening, March 28, 2012. Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, March 31, 2012 at the Cornerstone Church of Albia. Burial of remains will be at a later date in Oregon. Aubrey was born on January 26, 1925 to Claude and Lulla (Smith) McCurry. He graduated from High School in Oregon. He enlisted with the United States Marines and battled in the South Pacific during WWII. He married Lorene East. Lorene died in July of 1983. Aubrey was a Laborer for International Paper for many years. He loved Orange slices. He enjoyed gardening, and a little bit of square dancing. He is survived by his children: Edward (Jennifer) McCurry of Oregon, Debra (Richard) VanWardhuizen of Albia, two sisters, Dorothy and Thelma Gene, both of Oklahoma, twelve grandchildren, and many great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Lorene, and children, Aubrey Eugene, and Linda Gail Williams. In Lieu of Flowers, Memorials may be directed to the family.
