Obituary for Robert Alvin "Bob" Jordan

Robert “Bob” Alvin Jordan, age 59, of Ottumwa passed away Saturday morning, February 17, 2018 at his residence in Ottumwa, under the care of Hospice of Davis and Wapello Counties with his loving family by his side.Bob was born on February 13, 1959 in Iowa City to Clarence E. and Myrtle Jordan. He married Deborah Sly on February 14, 1976, and they were blessed with two children, David and Amanda. He worked for Heckerts, and also the Wapello County Sheriff’s Department for thirteen years. He was an avid motorcyclist, and a member of the CMA and Abate. He loved fishing and riding his harley. He also enjoyed camping, family bbq’s, and sleeping on the couch. He loved wrestling with his grandkids, spoiling his granddaughters and teasing them all. His other love beside motorcycles was his wife Debbie; who he loved for forty-two years and many more in heaven. His two children were his pride and joy; no matter what life threw at them, they stuck by each other thick or thin. Bob is survived by his wife, Debbie Jordan of Ottumwa; children, David (Jennifer) Jordan, Amanda (Shane) McGraw of Ottumwa; grandchildren, Jonathon, Justin, Gracie, Taytum, Shelby, Nevaeh, Dalton, Allora-Dannon, and Bradley; siblings, Shirley Denham of Ottumwa, Sandra Brokelander of Ottumwa, Butch (Kathy) Jordan of Ottumwa, Mary Whadams of Fairfield, and sister-in-law, Norma Jean Sly. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Myrtle Jordan; siblings, Louise Schmelzenbach, Otis Jordan, Marie Smith, and two nephews, Gary Smith and Dwayne Denham. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, February 22, 2018 at the First Pentecostal Assembly of God with Bob “Beagle” Beghtol, Abate District 14 Chaplain. Burial will follow services in Shaul Cemetery in Ottumwa. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral on Thursday, February 22, 2018 at the church. Memorials may be directed to the family.
