Pete Kenneth Sarver, age 17, of Albia passed away on Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines with his loving family by his side. Pete was born on June 28, 2001 in Pella to Matt and Mary Ann (Flahive) Sarver. He was the loving brother to Luke, Ryan, and Rachel. Survivors include his parents, Matt and Mary Ann Sarver of Albia; brothers, Luke and Ryan, sister, Rachel; maternal grandparents, Joe (Wanda) Flahive, Barb Kehr; paternal grandparents, Steve (Diana) Sarver; maternal great grandmother, Vivian Stein; aunts and uncles, Mike (Heather) Flahive, Jill (Matt) Blanco, Angie (Rod) Moser, Chris Sonnenburg, Andy (Kris) Sarver, Nathan (Becca) Sarver, and Tim Sarver; cousins, Hannah, Aubrey, Carter, Mackenzie, Dalton, Kylie, Emma, Ben, Miriam, Laura, and many great uncles, aunts, step cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his maternal great grandparents, Kenneth Stein, Ed (Lucille) Flahive; maternal step-grandfather, Virgil Kehr; Paternal great grandparents, Merrill (Lydia) Sarver, Dale (Dorothy) Hicklin, and cousin, Erica Sarver. Pete was our fun loving, sweet, caring young man. He impacted everybody with his loving smile and his contagious laugh. He had a gift to make all around him happy. The kid never walked around without a smile on his face. Everybody loved Pete. He always asked his mama how her day was. Pete loved to be outdoors and the lake life was his life. He always had a joke, sometimes inappropriate, but always made people laugh. We cannot express how much Pete was loved and cared for by his family, friends, and community. There was no one like Pete. His personality was so full of life. He was and is a great son, great brother, and great friend. We love you Pete. You are still going to have an impact on so many more lives. You have always been our families sunshine. You brought so much joy to us in the seventeen years that we were able to have you here with us. We know that Jesus is now holding you in his arms as we are here grieving for your loss. We know that you have joy and peace with Him, oh how beautiful it must be. We will miss our sweet Pete. We love you.Funeral Services will be held on Monday, July 9, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at the Cornerstone Community Church, 658 N 8th St., Albia, Iowa 52531 with Pastor Mark Brandt officiating, assisted by Pastor Rick Smith. Burial will follow in Oak View Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 8, 2018, from 2-8 p.m. with Pete’s family present at Cornerstone Community Church in Albia. In Lieu of flowers, Memorials to the family, and will go in a scholarship in Pete’s name.
