Obituary for John William Curtis

John William Curtis, age 89, of Ottumwa, passed away on Friday, March 16, 2018 at Vista Woods in Ottumwa.  John was born on November 17, 1928 in Ottumwa, Iowa, the oldest son to T. Dwain and Elizabeth (Wilkinson) Curtis. He graduated from Ottumwa High School in 1946 then enlisted in the United States Air Force, serving from November 1946 to November 1949. He worked as plant engineer at John Deere Ottumwa Works.  John is survived by two children, Michael Curtis of Vero Beach, Fl and David (Cindy) Curtis of Ottumwa, three grandchildren; Elizabeth (Aaron) Brinson and Lindsay Curtis, Davenport and Mary (Todd) Fee, Albia; four great grandchildren; Maleiah and Evaya, Davenport, and Ryken and Rylan, Albia; one brother Burton Curtis of Covina California; and good and loyal friend Larry Roberts.John was preceded in death by his brother Ted Curtis. John has been cremated, Inurnment with military rites was in Rock Island National Cemetery.  Memorials my be made to the Heartland Humane Society.
