Obituary for Harold Kosman

Harold J. Kosman, age 85, of Albia, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at the Monroe County Hospital in Albia. He was born on May 16, 1932 in Albia to Harry and Mamie (Flattery) Kosman. He grew up helping on the family farm, and helping his mother. He enjoyed working with livestock, riding horses, going to rodeo’s and dancing. Harold is survived by his sisters, Marie Griffin of Albia, Doris Craig of Ankeny, 30 nieces and nephews, and many great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Mamie Kosman, brother, Garry Kosman, brothers and sisters-in-law, Francis and Helen Kosman, Rita and Bob Lee; Brothers-in-law, Ray Griffin, Johnny Craig, two infant nieces; nephew, Mike Kosman, and great nephews, James Kosman and Chris Kosman. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, January 15, 2018, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Albia with Father Mike Volkmer C.PP.S officiating. Burial will follow services in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 14, 2018, with Harold’s family present from 1:00-8:00 p.m. There will be a rosary conducted by St. Mary’s Altar and Rosary at 4:00 p.m., and a Christian Wake Service at 6:00 p.m. Sunday evening at the funeral home.
