Life Story for Harold Gaylon Miner

Harold  Gaylon  Miner
Harold Gaylon Miner, age 64 of Fresno, California passed away Monday October 22, 2018 in Hope, Arkansas. He was born in Centerville, Iowa on July 31, 1954 to George and Eunice Fancheon (White) Miner. He enlisted into the Navy and served during the Vietnam Era and was on the Amphibious Squadron Seven Mission Assault.

He was always a free spirit being the youngest of seven children. He enjoyed being outside and traveling the country side. His favorite career and pastime was driving an 18-wheeler across the southern states, and talking on the phone; primarily to his sisters, nieces, nephews, friends, and especially his trucking buddies while on the road. He did a short stent of work for a carnival and enjoyed taking his nieces and nephews to the carnivals when they were in town. He married Carol, and she too enjoyed riding with him in the truck until she passed. Other traveling companions consisted of most recently his beloved little dog “Freckles” and a pet squirrel. Freckles will be rehoming here in Iowa.

Harold is survived by his sisters, Sandra Fincher of Moulton Iowa, and Sharon Hamlin of Moravia, Iowa; sister-in-law, Deb Glassford of Chariton, Iowa; brothers-in-law, Robert Campbell of Moline, Illinois, and Billy Main of Albia, Iowa. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Harold was preceded in death by his parents, wife Carol, sisters Berniece Latham, Peggy Miner, Martha Campbell, brother George Harold Miner, and brother-in-law, Robert Fincher.

Celebration of Life Services will be held at the Sinnott Funeral Home in Albia on Saturday, November 17, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. Visitation will also be on Saturday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. There will be a funeral luncheon at the funeral home followed by inurnment in Cincinnati Cemetery along side his parents with military rites conducted. Memorials may be directed to the family.
