Forrest “Pat” Gay Karr, age 91, of Albia, passed away on Saturday, December 12, 2020 at the Monroe County Hospital & Clinics. He was born on July 28, 1929 to Forrest Gay and Hazel Blanche (McMans) Karr.
Pat graduated from Bloomfield High School class, of 1946. He then enlisted with the United States Army. He married Gladys Ann Karr on July 14, 1954 at the Bloomfield Christian Church. They were blessed with three children: Sheree, Rick and Tony. Pat worked for Ideal Ready Mix, Kness Manufacturing, and after retirement he drove the pharmacy bus for Hy-Vee.
He enjoyed working on guns, and also woodworking. He was avid Iowa Hawkeye fan, and enjoyed watching nascar.
Pat is survived by his children, Sheila Cleppe of St. Cloude, FL, Sheree (Gary) Rumley of Newark, MO, Rick (Shelly) Karr of Marshalltown and Tony (Avis) Karr of Scottsdale, AZ; seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and Special friends Deanna and Dan Blackford of Albia. He was preceded in death by his parents, Forrest and Hazel, wife Gladys, and siblings, Kathryn Cedercrans, Russell Lee Karr.
A Celebration of Life Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 15, 2021 at Sinnott Funeral Home in Albia with Rev. Richard Grimes officiating. Visitation will be held Saturday, May 15, 2021 from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. with Pat's family present at Sinnott Funeral Home in Albia.
