Brenda Marie Burk, age 69 peacefully passed away on Monday December 24, 2012 at the Taylor House in Des Moines Iowa. She was born on June 8, 1943 in Bussey, Iowa to Hubert and Hazel (Green) Burk.
She was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi. She enjoyed scrapbooking and spending time with her family.
Surviving are son Bryan Burk and Grandson Curtis Burk of Des Moines, Brother Bud (Pat) Burk of Bussey and two nieces, Kim (Roger) Zellmer of Bussey, Lynn (Jeff) Gardner of Altoona. She is preceded in death by her parents
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday December 29, 2012 at the Bussey United Methodist Church in Bussey Iowa with Rev. Raymond Doser officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 28, 2012, opening to the public at 2:00 pm and family present from 6-8 pm Friday evening at the Sinnott Pierschbacher Funeral Home in Lovilia. Burial will follow services in Liberty Cemetery near Bussey. Memorials may be directed to Beta Sigma Phi. Online condolences may be left at sinnottfuneralhome.com

Brenda and I were childhood friends & neighbors. I will never forget the fun we had together and Brenda's special laught.
I knew Brenda for many years as a Beta Sigma Phi sister and friend. She was always a kind and caring person. My thoughts and prayers are sent to her family.

I met Brenda through Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and always remember her kind quiet ways. She truly enjoyed sorority. She will be missed as a part of our group. Thoughts and prayers to her family and friends.
