Obituary for Lewis Smith Willoughby Lewis Smith Willoughby Dateline: Albia, Iowa Lewis Smith Willoughby, age 99, passed from this life on April 30, 2012 at the Iowa City Rehabilitation and Health Center. He was born on February 15, 1913 in Lucas County to Harry and Sarah (Krutsinger) Willoughby. Lewis grew up and attended School in Georgetown. He married Mary Estaline Savage on December 24, 1935 in Chariton. He worked for Hy-Vee Distribution Center in Chariton, until his retirement in 1975. Mary died on February 16, 1997. Lewis enjoyed hunting, fishing, and going to Flea Markets after his retirement. He is survived by his son Raymond (Barbara) Willoughby of Iowa City, three grandchildren: Vicki Conner of Derby, David (Beatrice) Willoughby of Riverside, Diane Willoughby of Iowa City and three great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Harry Warner Willoughby, sisters, Ruth Ugly, and Florence Wharff, and one granddaughter, Debra Lee Willoughby. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, May 4, 2012 at the Sinnott Pierschbacher Funeral Home in Albia with Pastor Rick Smith officiating. Burial will follow services in Chariton Cemetery. Visitation will also be held on Friday, from 10-11 am at the funeral home in Albia. Memorials may be directed to Iowa City Hospice.
